FOUR-YEAR-OLD mare Spirit Torque overcame midrace interference to make it two wins from two since returning to Kendrick Racing.

"It was great to see her go to back to back,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick after Spirit Torque ($4.80) won a Class 1 (1200m) at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday, April 18.

"It was a gutsy win after getting checked in running," Kendrick said.

"She was also stepping up to strong Class 1 company,'' he said.

Spirit Torque won first-up since October in a Maiden SW (1100m) at the Gold Coast on a heavy track on April 4.

She showed that was no wet track fluke, with the Sunshine Coast track rated good on Saturday.

Apprentice Sarah Eilbeck has been on the mare's back for both wins.

Spirt Torque was with Kendrick Racing about 12 months ago before changing stables.

She was switched back to the stables recently and it has proved to be a successful homecoming.
