PUBLISHING four-year-old News Editor is grabbing plenty of headlines.

A big weight and tough run could not halt the gelding from making it back-to-back wins in a Sunshine Coast Class 1 (1600m) on Sunday, August 16.

Ridden by Timothy Bell, News Editor ($4.60) was caught back and wide in the run but stormed home down the outside to swamp his rivals, winning by nearly a length.

"It was big win,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.

"He was wide throughout after jumping from a tricky gate and had to carry 59kg,'' he said.

News Editor had broken through at his last start as a three-year-old in a midweek maiden at the Sunshine Coast, also over the mile, on July 29.

He handled the step up to class one company with ease and looks like he'll only get better over more ground.

"He'll go to an 1800m at the Sunshine Coast in two weeks,'' said Kendrick.

"He looks to be a good stayer in the making."
