NOT A Single Doubt three-year-old Patronizing ran up to the promise he showed as a two-year-old for a belated maiden win at the Sunshine Coast.
The Darby Racing-syndicated galloper broke through at his eighth career start in a Maiden (1200m) on Sunday, September 13.
Ridden by Damian Brown, Patronizing ($2.10-fav) raced handy, shot to the lead and held off a late challenge for the well-deserved win.
"He ran some terrific races as a two-year-old, including behind some good performers in metropolitan company, without winning,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
"He had four placings from six starts as a two-year-old,'' he said.
"We had him gelded before this campaign and he trialled brilliantly before finishing unplaced at Doomben first-up when he was caught wide.
"We dropped him back to easier company for this race and he got the job done.
"It was good to finally get a win on the board and hopefully that will give him the confidence to win some more this campaign."
