THREE-YEAR-OLD Jack Lancaster is a half-brother to the likes of Lightfeet Lady, Tambo's Jewel and Queen Caesar.

But that didn't stop trainer Stuart Kendrick making a bold prediction after the gelding broke his maiden status at his fourth career run at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, October 4.

"He could very well be the best of them,'' Kendrick declared.

"He's another one Dalan Tamblyn has bred from his good producing mare To Please A Lady," he said.

"He's always shown heaps of ability but has been a little immature.

"He won a jumpout by a big space before this preparation but then had a few issues.

"The horse is flying on the track now. He'll probably go for a spell and I think he could be a carnival horse next year."

Ridden by Damian Browne, Jack Lancaster ($2.50-fav) raced hand before coasting away in the straight to win by four lengths in the QTIS 3YO Maiden (1400m).

Kendrick said it was a well-deserved win.

"He should have won last start (when third over 1200m),'' he said.
