A DROP in class put Remagen Bridge back in the winner's circle and on track for another crack at metropolitan company.
"He had no luck last time in town when he was trapped wide,'' trainer Stuart Kendrick said.
Following that midfield effort in a 2MW race at Doomben, the six-year-old dropped back to a Benchmark 75 (1200m) at Ipswich on Saturday, December 19, and was too strong.
"He was back in grade and won well with the weight,'' Kendrick said.
Remagen Bridge ($3.60-fav) was lumped with 60.5kg by the handicapper and carried 58.5kg with the aid of apprentice Tiffani Brooker's claim.
"Tiffani rode him well,'' Kendrick said.
"She let the speed go and sat in behind before winning comfortably,'' he said.
"He'll have a week on the water walker now to freshen him up and then might have another crack in town or at the next metropolitan meeting here (the Sunshine Coast)."
