THE words of apprentice Tiffani Brooker after she galloped Falchion in the lead-up to an Ipswich assignment proved prophetic.
"She said if he leads, he'll win,'' trainer Stuart Kendrick said after Falchion led all the way for a tough victory in an Ipswich Class 1 (1100m) on Friday, March 4.
Brooker didn't have the race ride, with red-hot jockey James Orman booting Falchion home by just under half-a-length after fending off the challengers.
"It was another 10 out of 10 ride by James,'' Kendrick said.
"But full credit also to Tiffani, who galloped the horse on the Tuesday before the race,'' he said.
It was Falchion's second win in his past three starts after breaking through for his maiden victory on the Sunshine Coast synthetic track two runs back.
NOTE: Make sure you like Kendrick Racing Stables on Facebook. This was the pre-race assessment posted on the page: "Falchion today at Ipswich, strong field but horse is very well, has drawn 3 with inform Jimmy Orman onboard. The soft track help so a great each way chance." Falchion officially started $10 with on-course bookmakers but as much as $21 was available with the corporates.
