SAINT Lenny’s win at Ooralea last month first-up from a short let-up was his fourth in a row.
Racing without blinkers for the first time, Saint Lenny, ridden by David Hayse, extended his winning ways in a Benchmark 79 (1200m).
It was his first run in nine weeks and followed successive wins in Bowen, Townsville and Rockhampton. Saint Lenny then stepped up to open company and ran well, going down less than a half-length when third over 1400m behind Red Story.
“He showed in that run he’ll be more than competitive in open company and there are more wins in store for this consistent galloper,"said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
Saint Lenny’s Mackay win extended a good run for the stable at Ooralea since the beginning of the new season.
“With the track closed so long for the redevelopment it is good to be getting the results again on our home track," said Kendrick.
While the blinkers came off Saint Lenny, they went on Beaux Strata and did the trick when he won a Class 1 (1800m) at Ooralea on October 23 with Adrian Coome aboard.
