WRITTEN Tycoon four-year-old Tycoon Tyke has helped apprentice jockey Adam Sewell ride his first treble at the Sunshine Coast.

Tycoon Tyke was Sewell’s third winner of the meeting when he broke through at his eighth career start, winning a Maiden (1000m) on Friday, March 17.

The gelding defied a drift in the betting ring to score the well-deserved win.

“It was great for us to be part of Adam’s milestone,’’ said trainer Stuart Kendrick.

“He rides the horse all of his work. It was good to see all of the hard work pay off,’’ Kendrick said.

“It was also fantastic to see Tycoon Tyke produce what he’s capable of on the track,’’ he said.

“He’s had his fair share of problems in the past, but is now able to show his true form.”

The win also marked a double for Kendrick Racing at the meeting.
