FOUR-YEAR-OLD Light Shows’ return to racing lit up the Sunshine Coast.

The Show A Heart mare, having her first start since December, led all the way in the last on Sunday, April 30 – a race run under lights.

“It was an excellent way to end the weekend,” said Stuart Kendrick after the win in a Class 4 (1200m).

Ridden by Luke Tarrant, Light Shows ($26) sprinted well fresh.

She jumped straight to the lead and was never headed kicking clear in the straight before holding off the challengers.

It was her fourth win from 20 starts. She has also placed on seven occasions.

Light Shows’ fresh form before this return was only fair, with one third from three first-up runs.

She usually fires after one run back, with two wins and a third from three second-up runs.

“She’d trialled going into this assignment and it was great to see her run so well,’’ said Kendrick.

“Hopefully, she can keep that form going and will have a nice campaign,” he said.
