ONE of Kendrick Racing's most consistent gallopers Tambo's Heart deserves a Saturday metropolitan win.

And judging by his sensational first-up midweek city win, this could be the campaign for that elusive victory.

"I'd love to win a Saturday race in town with him," said trainer Stuart Kendrick after the Show A Heart five-year-old won at Ipswich at his first run since February.

Ridden brilliantly by apprentice Tiffani Brooker, Tambo's Heart ($11) finished strongly to win by one-and-three-quarter lengths in a C&G 0-70 Handicap (1200m) on Wednesday, May 24.

"It was a terrific ride by Tiffani,'' said Kendrick.

"It was also a great job by the whole team to get him ready first-up, especially Adam Sewell, who rides him in his work."

Tambo's Heart, owned and bred by Dalan Tamblyn,  put in an uncharacteristic run in February when well beaten at Doomben.

"He'd had enough so we put him out,'' Kendrick said.

But his form before that was ultra-consistent.

The Ipswich victory took his career record to four wins and 15 placings, including 10 runner-up cheques, from 27 starts.
