SHOW A Heart four-year-old Light Shows loves to lead.

“She likes to get to the front and when she does she’s very hard to run down,’’ said trainer Stuart Kendrick.

That is what unfolded when the mare won a Class 5 (1350m) with a front-running display at Ipswich on Friday, June 30.

Ridden by apprentice Tiffani Brooker, Light Shows ($2.90-fav) showed plenty of determination to hold on and win by three-quarters of a length.

“She was ridden perfectly by Tiffani,’’ said Kendrick.

Light Shows was beaten just under four lengths over the same course and distance last start but that was in a much stronger race on Ipswich Cup day.

“She had no luck last start,’’ said Kendrick.

The consistent mare has five wins and nine placings from 25 career starts.
