A HEAVY track proved no obstacle for The Inflamer first up.

The four-year-old Hidden Dragon gelding returned in brilliant fashion, winning a Benchmark 60 (1010m) at Ipswich on Friday, July 7.

Ridden a treat by apprentice Adam Sewell, The Inflamer ($10) won by a length at his first run since April.

With three thirds from three runs on soft and heavy tracks before the race, the rain-affected Ipswich track remained a query.

But he handled it with ease.

“The wet track didn’t worry him,’’ said trainer Stuart Kendrick.

“He was ridden perfectly by Adam Sewell.”

It was The Inflamer’s third win from 13 starts. He’s also placed on four occasions.

He seems to like the Ipswich circuit, with two wins from three starts on the track.
