JOCKEY Damian Browne is a good judge and he had a favourable assessment of So Invincible after the two-year-old won a maiden on his home track.
So Invincible, well backed to start $1.90 favourite, broke through at his sixth career start in the set weights 2YO Maiden (1200m) at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, July 30.
He raced handy and finished hard on the outside to win by one-and-a-quarter lengths at the final start of his two-year-old season.
“He’s a nice horse,’’ said trainer Stuart Kendrick after So Invincible went one better than his luckless second at the Gold Coast last start.
“Brownie gave him a good rap,’’ Kendrick said.
“We might even look at stepping him up in trip now,’’ he said.
The I Am Invincible gelding is a “little nugget” of a horse.
He’s always shown plenty of ability and tackled some tough races early on his career.
Sunday’s win, which kicked off a winning double for the stable, should give him plenty of confidence.
