STAR Witness three-year-old Zap is showing his true potential.

He has now won two in a row since being gelded, taking his record to two wins from four starts.

After breaking through at Toowoomba last start, he showed it was no fluke, winning a CG&E 0-60 (1200m) on his home track on Sunday, September 17.

Ridden by Damian Browne, Zap ($2.35) scored a determined win, coming from last to beat betting ring rival Pressway ($2.30-fav).

"It was a terrific ride from Brownie as he had to weave a passage through,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick

"Pressway is a handy horse, so the win was fullĀ  of merit,'' Kendrick said.

"He (Zap) has always showed promise,'' he said.

"He was just doing too much wrong early on."

Kendrick is hopeful Zap can emulate the feats of another stable star.

"He's by Star Witness who we have had success with Rare Occurrence,'' he said.
