It didn’t quite go to script butthree-year-old Copywriter still got the job done at her first race-day outing.

The big-striding Written Tycoon filly was slow away and raced greenly throughout when she won a F&M Maiden (1000m) at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, September 24.

Ridden by Damian Browne, Copywriter ($3.80) kept coming on the outside to win by a half-length.

“She’s a lovely big filly…she just got a little bit lost,’’ trainer Stuart Kendrick said after the win.

“She hasn’t done that much in among fields,’’ Kendrick said.

“I think she was having a bit of a look at them today,’’ he said.

“But we had the right man (Browne) onboard to guide her home.”

Copywriter’s win suggests she’ll improve with experience and there should be plenty more ahead.

“She’s been a bit of a work in progress,’’ Kendrick said.

“We’ve been pretty patient with her. The owners have been great.”
