TWO three-year-olds notched their second wins for Kendrick Racing on the Sunshine Coast last month.
Jet Spur gelding Mercury Jet flew on the cushion track on April 4, winning a Class 1 (1000m) by two-and-a-half lengths.
It was the Darby Racing-syndicated galloper's second win for Kendrick Racing after winning on debut in a Maiden (1200m) back in February.
Pretty Gully then won a Class 2 (1200m) at another Sunday Sunshine Coast meeting on April 28.
Ridden by Larry Cassidy, she started a $7 chance and won a Class 2 (1200m) by a half-length.
Mercury Jet, ridden by Adrian Coome, was bought by Darby Racing at the Magic Millions Q600 sale back in 2011.
"He needed some time to mature and didn't make it to the track until he was three but has shown some good promise in his two wins,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
Pretty Gully was bought as a tried horse and has immediately provided some returns to her new connections.
The Spinning World filly, formerly trained by Peter Moody, won on debut for Kendrick Racing at the Sunshine Coast in March when resuming.
She has now won two of three starts for the stable. "Her work leading into (last month's) race had been topnotch,'' said Kendrick.
Petty Gully, a maiden winner in Sydney, now has three wins and two seconds from eight starts. Kendrick Racing had some nice three-year-olds this season, Kendrick said.
"We've got the likes of Doubtfilly, Avaladyluck and Tambo's Jewel, and some of these other promising horses working through the lower grades."
