A DRY track has helped Written Tycoon four-year-old The Administrator make the step-up from placegetter to winner.
The gelding broke through at his fourth career start, winning an Ipswich Maiden (1350m) on Friday, July 27.
Ridden by Michael Hellyer, The Administrator ($9.50) won easily by one-and-three quarter lengths.
The breakthrough win followed third placings on rain-affected tracks at the Gold Coast and Ipswich at his past two.
“He finally put it all together after a couple of placings,’’ said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
“He has shown ability but ran into wet tracks,’’ he said.
“He’s by Written Tycoon and should improve further with more racing.”
