PROMISING filly Winter Passage beat the storm and ran like lightning at her first start back from a spell.
The I Am Invincible three-year-old romped home by two lengths in a Benchmark 65 (1000m) at Caloundra on Sunday, October 21.
Ridden by Luke Tarrant, Winter Passage ($2.30-fav) raced handy in second inside the leader before skipping clear in the straight to score a comfortable win.
Her victory came in race three on the program, with the meeting abandoned later in the afternoon due to storms.
"She's very well bred, being by I Am Invincible,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
"She's always shown plenty of ability and should just keep improving as she matures,'' he said.
"She will be directed into town and hopefully we may even look at the Inglis three-year-old race with her."
Winter Passage now has two wins and three placings from five career starts.
