PROMISING three-year-old Winter Passage has boosted her impressive pedigree with a city win.
The I Am Invincible filly produced a strong front-running effort to win a F&M Class 3 (1110m) at Doomben on Wednesday (January 2).
She now has three wins and four placings from eight career starts.
"She's building a handy record,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
"She's well bred, so it was great to get a city win on the board," he said.
Winter Passage ($25) started long odds in the midweek city race after finishing third in a Class 2 (1000m) at the Sunshine Coast last start.
"She got smashed at the barriers last start when she was favourite,'' Kendrick said
"With the good draw today, (jockey) Matt (McGillivray) gave her every chance," he said.
McGillivray and Winter Passage found the lead and the filly was strong in the run to the line, holding off a late dive by favourite She's Spicy ($2).
"She will got to a Saturday metropolitan race now and hopefully the carnival after a break," Kendrick said
