WELL-NAMED Snitzel three-year-old Fish 'N' Snitz burned up plenty of energy pre-race but still got the job done on her home track.
The filly, out of Whiting, returned to the winner's stall at her third start this preparation in a Sunshine Coast Class 1 (1200m) on Friday night, March 8.
Jockey James Orman brought Fish 'N' Snitz ($8) down the outside of the small field with a well-timed run and she had plenty of gas in the tank, despite putting on a display pre-race display.
"I think it is more at home and under the lights - she got herself pretty worked up,'' trainer Stuart Kendrick said.
"It was a good effort because she would have burned a bit of energy doing that  It was a bit of a worry but she did well," he said.
Kendrick was pleased but not surprised to see her back in winning form.
"She promised a lot early as a two-year-old. She came back a lot bigger this time in condition, so she probably just took those couple of runs,'' he said.
"I was fairly confident tonight leading into it until she played up beforehand."
Kendrick said he was happy to just take the filly through her grades for now.
"I'd like to see her win again next start,'' he said.
"She had some good form in town early days, so it would be nice to think she can get back there."
