They say weight stops trains but it couldn't stop Mr Strachan.
The El Nino five-year-old lumped 60.5kg to a dominant win at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, March 24.
Ridden by Ryan Wiggins, Mr Strachan ($5) romped home by two-and-a-half lengths in a Benchmark 65 (1000m).
It was his first run since a last-start second over the same course and distance on February 3.
"The owners have been patient waiting for the right race,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
"And he ran time today,'' he said.
"We might have a crack at a race in town again with him."
It was Mr Stachan's fifth win from 20 career starts. He's also placed on six occasions.
He loves the Sunshine Coast 1000m, with three wins and three placings from seven runs at the trip.
