SNITZEL gelding Striking Distance has struck in a big way.
The four-year-old left no doubt when he broke through first-up from a spell and at his fourth career start at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, March 31.
Ridden by Ryan Wiggins, Striking Distance ($2.25-fav) set the speed in front before gapping his rivals by a huge margin.
He was eased down by Wiggins to score by five-and-a-half lengths in the Darby Racing colours.
"Credit to the owners,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
"This horse has had plenty of issues. However, he is a tough horse and showed today he has his fair share of ability,'' he said.
"He is a well-bred Snitzel raced by the Darby crew."
