HALLOWED Crown two-year-old Let's Cheer Again had his supporters doing just that with a stunning first-up win.

The promising colt, having his second career run and first start since December, led all the way in a 2YO C&G Maiden (900m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday, April 20.

Ridden by King of the Coast, Daniel Griffin, Let's Cheer Again ($2.90-fav) was annoyed in front early by Iced but shrugged off that challenge and raced away in the straight to win by two-and-a-quarter lengths to Poetic Choice. Iced ended up six lengths behind the winner in third.

"He (Let's Cheer Again) is a very promising colt,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.

"He had trialled well leading into the race and we were confident he could get the job done first up from a spell,'' he said.

"Thanks to owners Harry and Margaret Reid for their support. They've had a good week, with another of their horses Mymming winning in town a week ago."

Let's Cheer Again won a trial back in December before being beaten six lengths in a metropolitan two-year-old race at Eagle Farm on debut.

After a let-up he showed he was back with a trial win at the Sunshine Coast earlier this month and ran right up to that with his breakthrough win at the Gold Coast.
