KENDRICK Racing is having a sterling two-year-old season and so is first season sire Better Than Ready.

The two combined when Better Than Ready two-year-old Well Prepared smashed his rivals at the Gold Coast on Saturday, June 1.

After a disappointing run last start, he started $6.50 but was too strong for them, winning a QTIS 2YO (900m) by more than three lengths.

There have now been 18 winners of 28 races by the first crop of Better Than Ready two-year-olds, equal to last season's boom sire Spirit of Boom with two months to go in the season.

Trainer Stuart Kendrick said it was great to see Well Prepared bounce back after a disappointing effort last time out.

"He's always shown ability after winning his first start,'' he said.

Well Prepared now has two wins over the Gold Coast 900m as his debut victory was also over that course and distance.

He then tackled listed company in Brisbane before a short freshen-up and a disappointing run at the Sunshine Coast on a heavy track.

"He was back to the Gold Coast 900 and well ridden by Anthony Allen,'' Kendrick said.
