CHILL The Beer would not be denied first-up from a spell.
The two-year-old showed plenty of determination to win a 2YO Class 1 (900m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday (June 15), despite a tough run.
"He's a promising horse,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
"He sat wide but fought on well,'' he said.
The win was also full of merit as the 900m sprint was short of his best.
"He will get better over further,'' Kendrick said.
"We'll probably step him up to 1200 next start."
The win was Chill The Beer's first run since January.
He has a handy record of two wins and two placings from four starts.
