TAMBO'S Mate has bounced back in the best possible way after being scratched at the barriers last start.
He put that hiccup behind him by winning a Ratings Band 0-65 (1050m) at Doomben on Wednesday, June 19, landing a betting plunge in the process.
Backed in from more than $3 to start $1.65-favourite, Tambo's Mate was strong at the finish, winning by one-and-a-half lengths with Matt McGillivray aboard.
It was the second win in four starts for Tambo's Mate.
"He's a promising horse,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
"It was disappointing to be scratched at the gates a week ago but he was never in doubt today, securing a good run,'' he said.
"He will now be aimed at some nice QTIS races over the next six weeks."
