WRITTEN Tycoon gelding The Administrator proved a perfect curtain-raiser to Kendrick Racing Caloundra Cup Day.
The five-year-old won the last at Ipswich on Friday (June 28) afternoon, a Benchmark 58 (1200m).
"We had a big day ahead of us the following day, with Kendrick Racing Caloundra Cup Day, so it was great to head into it on a winning note,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
The Administrator ($4), second-up from a spell, won comfortably by one-and-a-quarter lengths.
He's assembling a nice record at Ipswich, with two wins and two placings from four starts.
"He seems to like the tight circuit,'' Kendrick said.
The Administrator was ridden by Luke Tarrant, who went on to combine with another Kendrick Racing galloper Tarzan to win on Caloundra Cup Day.
