THE big-striding Star of Michelin certainly loves the spacious surrounds of the Eagle Farm track.
He's now won two in a row there, with the latest being an impressive victory in a 2YO (1500m) on Saturday, July 20.
Ridden by Matthew McGillivray, Star of Michelin ($7) raced off the speed before looming up in the straight and bounding away to win easily by two lengths.
It came after he broke through in a midweek Maiden (1400m) at the same circuit as a $41 chance at his second career start.
Trainer Stuart Kendrick said Star of Michelin was a promising galloper that had taken time to mature.
"He has been working with the older horses and beating them,'' he said.
"He is big raw-boned horse and the older he gets the better he gets.
"I am not sure exactly where he will go but we will look for another race at Eagle Farm as he goes a lot better here on the big track."
Star of Michelin, by Jet Spur and out of Conca Bella, was bred by owners Ross and Judy Cutts, who have had plenty of success with the family.
