TRAINER Stuart Kendrick paid tribute to He's the Deel's regular track work rider Darryl Pollock after the rising stayer's eye-catching midweek city win at Ipswich.

The four-year-old stormed home from well back to win a Class 3 (2150m) as a $7 chance on Wednesday (September 11).

"It has been a frustrating campaign with him after a good win over a mile to win his maiden at Doomben,'' Kendrick said.

"The horse was wanting to go hard, so we had to bring him back in trip and get him to switch off,'' he said.

"Darryl Pollock rides him work and has done a great job getting him to relax.

"He has shown at his last few runs he is looking for further and did a great job to skip classes to win in Class 3 midweek city company.

"It was also a great ride from Ryan Maloney."
