SHOOTING To Win three-year-old Winning Shot has maintained a near flawless start to her racing career.

The filly made it three wins from four starts in a Benchmark 65 (1000m) at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, September 23,

Ridden by Tegan Harrison, Winning Shot ($1.55-fav) scored a commanding win, sprinting through on the inside and holding off stablemate Lips 'N' Hips, which ran on well, by one-and-a-half lengths.

"Winning Shot is a very promising filly,'' said trainer Stuart Kendrick.

"She ran good time in beating the older horses,'' he said.

It was Harrison's second win in a row on the horse, with the pair also combining first-up to win a Class 1 over the same course and distance.

The only time Winning Shot was beaten was in strong two-year-old metropolitan company at Doomben in April.

Before that, she won on debut at the Gold Coast.

The race quinella was a good scene setter before Kendrick accepted the 2018-19 Provincial Trainer of the Year gong at the Racing Queensland awards that evening.
