As a juvenile Got My Thrills looked like she could not be tamed.

"We bought her in New Zealand through sales with Andrew Williams Bloodstock," said trainer Stuart Kendrick.

"The breaker couldn't break her in. He said she was too much of a handful and gave up on her," he said.

"So Andy recommended Mark and Lorraine Forbes from Kiltannon Stables and they did a great job.

"We then sent her to Stephen Marsh who took her up to a trial that she won in New Zealand."

But there was further drama before she made her racetrack debut with an impressive win at the Sunshine Coast on Friday night (October 4).

"She flew over here but then she had a strained glute," Kendrick said.

"We got her right but then had to scratch because of a cough."

With all of those troubles behind her she finally showed what she could do in a Maiden (1200m).

Ridden by Mark Du Plessis, she sat three wide the trip but still won by just under two lengths as a $3.70 chance.

"She is well bred by Iffraaj, so hopefully she might be a nice staying filly later," Kendrick said.
