INFORM mare Copywriter's amazing midweek city win in class record time was Kendrick Racing's sixth victory in less than a week.
Copywriter ($16), ridden by Robbie Fradd, caused a boil-over when she ran down hot favourite and tearaway leader Desert Man ($1.22-fav) at Doomben on Wednesday, October 16.
She raced in fourth spot before chasing gamely and running past the favourite late to win by one-and-a-quarter lengths in a Class 5 Plate (1200m).
Copywriter, which made it two wins in a row after scoring at Caloundra last start, stopped the clock at 1.08.88, breaking the class record.
"I might have to think about a black type race (for her) on that time,” Kendrick said.
“She has been racing well but I thought Desert Man would be too quick,'' he said.
"But as everyone keeps saying, racing is a funny game.”
It was Copywriter's fifth career win and her second city midweek success.
Kendrick Racing has had a great run of success in the past week.
The stable saddled up two doubles at Caloundra on Friday night and Sunday from four starters and also won with Tambo's Mate at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
